The Na Jomthien police were alerted to the death at 9am. The man appeared to be in his 40s with rather dark skin. He was wearing a blue long-sleeve shirt and multicoloured trousers. Laemthong Sukphanit, 54, a railway official, told police that he was checking the tracks at 7:30am and found the body near Soi Na Jomthien 1. Laemthong said the man might have been killed around midnight when two freight trains were due. Pol Capt Ratchapol Tiamsakhu, the deputy inspector, said it was still unknown who the man was because he carried no identification. It was suspected that he was homeless because residents had seen him walking around.
