MANILA – A Filipina migrant worker in Abu Dhabi was killed Thursday after being hit by a car, the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) said Friday. The DFA condoled with the family of the Filipina sales executive, who hailed from Abra province. It did not immediately identify the woman. The Filipina was struck by a vehicle along the Dubai-Al Ain Highway as she stepped out of her car after one of its tires burst, the DFA said in a statement. Authorities took custody of the driver of the other car, it said. Ambassador Hjayceelyn Quintana assured the victim’s relative in the UAE of the embassy’s support in repatriating the woman’s remains, it said.
