0 Appearances have been made by Kentucky in the SEC Championship Game. But if the Wildcats defeat Georgia, Kentucky will represent the SEC East in the conference title game on Dec. 1 in Atlanta. If Georgia wins, then the Bulldogs will return to the title game after winning the league crown last season. Georgia has played in the SEC Championship Game six times.
2 Of the previous 71 Georgia-Kentucky games involved two teams ranked in the AP poll. No. 8 Georgia defeated No. 19 Kentucky 28-13 in 1946, and No. 8 Georgia defeated No. 22 Kentucky 24-13 in 2007. Georgia is ranked sixth and Kentucky 11th in this week’s AP poll.
6 Consecutive seasons without a regression in Kentucky’s victory total. The Wildcats are the only team in the nation with such a streak. In 2012, Kentucky won two games. It’s the first time that’s happened since 1960, when Kentucky closed the campaign by allowing its final eight opponents to score only 37 points, with a high of 17 by Georgia. It’s the first time since 1950 that the Wildcats have held their first eight opponents in a season to 20 or fewer points. Kentucky is the only team in the nation that has not given up more than 20 points in a game this season.
8 Kentucky victories under coach Mark Stoops have come after the Wildcats fell behind by at least 10 points, including their 15-14 victory over Missouri last week. That’s the most wins after trailing by 10 points for a coach in Kentucky history.
10 Sacks have been registered by Kentucky outside linebacker Josh Allen this season, the most in the SEC. Allen’s sack total is the most for a Kentucky player since Dean Wells had 10 in 1992.
11 Consecutive victories have been tallied by Georgia in the game after its annual contest against Florida in Jacksonville. Four of those wins have come against Kentucky. The Wildcats are the most recent team to beat the Bulldogs after the Florida game, taking a 24-20 victory in 2006. Georgia defeated Florida 36-17 last week.
12 Consecutive victories against SEC East opponents for Georgia, which would go 6-0 against its division rivals for the second season in a row by beating Kentucky. Last season was Georgia’s first with a 6-0 mark within the SEC East.
13 SEC games have been won by Kentucky since the start of the 2016 season, equaling the Wildcats’ record for the most conference victories in a three-season span. Kentucky also won 13 conference games over the 1976, 1977 and 1978 seasons.
41 TDs have been scored by Kentucky RB Benny Snell Jr., the most in school history.
