MANILA – AirAsia said it appointed former PLDT Inc executive Ricardo “Ricky” Isla as its new CEO for the Philippines, replacing Dexter Comendador who was named chief operating officer. Isla’s work with PLDT Global Corp involved international product development, sales and distribution. He held general manager positions in US, Italy and Singapore, AirAsia said in a statement. “Ricky has an outstanding track record of leading and transforming businesses, especially when it comes to increasing revenue and market share, customer satisfaction and employee engagement,” AirAsia Philippines chairman Maan Hontiveros said. “Together with his telecommunications background and global experience, we are confident he will provide the right foundation to steer AirAsia Philippines to even greater heights,” she said.
