BANGKOK, Dec 9 (Bernama): Secretary of State of the United States (US) Antony Blinken will visit Thailand from Dec 15 to 16 to further strengthen Thailand-US alliance and strategic partnership.

In a statement, Thailand's Ministry of Foreign Affairs said Blinken, who is on his inaugural visit the Southeast Asian region, is scheduled to call on Prime Minister Prayuth Chan o-cha.

During the visit, he will have a bilateral meeting with Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Don Pramudwinai.

The State Department said during the visit regional issues including the situation in Myanmar will be discussed.
