Video PlayerClose HONG KONG, Dec. 12 (Xinhua) -- Hong Kong's role in global finance remains intact despite recent unrest, Fitch Ratings said Thursday in a report. "There is little evidence so far that the social unrest in Hong Kong has adversely affected its role as a global financial center, even amid severe short-term economic pressures," according to the report posted on the website of the credit rating agency. Fitch said a series of data including equity and debt capital fund-raising, banking-sector deposits, business registrations and employment visas showed no signs of a diminished position of Hong Kong. "Alibaba's recent listing on the Hong Kong stock exchange underscores Hong Kong's role as the flagship off-shore financing center for Chinese firms," Fitch said. Mumbai: Market benchmark BSE Sensex climbed over 150 points on Thursday tracking gains in other Asian equities after US Federal Reserve kept interest rates unchanged at its policy meeting and hinted at an accommodative stance throughout next year. The 30-share index was trading 149.75 points or 0.37 per cent higher at 40,562.32 in morning trade. The broader Nifty was trading 47.60 points or 0.40 per cent up at 11,957.75. Yes Bank was the top gainer in the Sensex pack rallying up to 4.32 per cent, followed by ICICI Bank Tata Motors, Tata Steel, Vedanta, IndusInd Bank, Hero MotoCorp, SBI and Sun Pharma. On the other hand, ONGC was the top loser, shedding up to 1.25 per cent. Bharti Airtel, Kotak Bank, PowerGrid, ICICI Bank and HDFC were also trading in the red. An app purportedly of the banned Khalistan group Sikhs for Justice, it contains Khalistani content -- one of the pictures on its app store page says former Punjab chief minister Beant Singh was 'stopped by blast' as he was a 'killer and torturer of Khalistani activists'.Beant Singh was assassinated in a car bombing on August 31, 1995, in Chandigarh. The app says Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh will be 'stopped by the ballot', but has a suggestive bullet shaped half in the form of a pen.
