NEW DELHI: The Enforcement Directorate is hopeful of getting P Chidambaram's custody to question him on the source of money with which his son Karti purchased a tennis club in Spain, cottages in the UK and several other properties in India and abroad worth over Rs 54 crore. All these properties were purchased allegedly using proceeds of crime generated through bribes received by Karti in the INX Media case, according to the attachment order passed by the ED in October 2018. Chidambaram is co-accused with his son in the INX Media money laundering case and also in the Aircel-Maxis 2G scam case, both being investigated by the ED along with the CBI. The father and son have been chargesheeted and properties attached, including the Rs 16 crore Jor Bagh bungalow in Delhi, where Chidambaram lives. Stock plans received 60.2 billion rupees ($844 million) last month, according to the Association of Mutual Funds in India. That’s 9% less than what they got in September and the smallest inflow since May.
