NEW DELHI: A fast-track court has sentenced a senior citizen to five years in jail for sexually assaulting a seven-year old girl, observing he was guilty of crippling her childhood and deserved to be taken to task without leniency. Additional sessions judge Seema Maini said sexual assault inhibits every kind of growth of the child, leaving the child either as a “nervous wreck” or a “mental” and “emotional dwarf”. In its verdict, the court stated that sexual assault did not only affect a child physically and emotionally but also psychologically. “The psychological assault corrodes the inner being of the child, slowly but steadily, leaving deep embedded scars, which though not visible to the naked eye, get manifested in the child’s future actions, reactions and emotions. Such a sexually assaulted child develops fear psychosis, withdrawal symptoms as well as shiftiness in behaviour,” the court said. RAJKOT: Jamnagar police will be joined by 22-year-old Hasan Safin, a Gujarati and the youngest IPS officer in the country, who will take charge on December 23 as the assistant superintendent of police. Coming from humble origins, Safin hails from Kanodar village of Palanpur and is looking forward to serve the society and the nation through his services. Safin cracked the Union Public Service Commission exams with an all-India rank of 570 last year. He qualified to become an IPS officer, but wanted to be an IAS officer. In a telephonic conversation with TOI, Safin said, “I appeared again but could not clear the exam. The Malvani police has begun a probe to verify an alleged sexual assault on a seven-year-old girl in the premises of a posh school in Charkop, Malad. After the girl’s mother approached the local police, other parents assembled outside the school premises on Friday afternoon. Police had to be called to disperse the crowd. According to sources from the police, the girl’s mother said she was upset and slept off after returning from school on Thursday evening. On being asked about it, the girl told her mother that her private parts were paining. The family took the child to a private hospital where some blood was noticed on her undergarments. New Delhi: In a bizarre incident, the Madhya Pradesh Police arrested a man for allegedly sexually assaulting his own eight-year-old daughter on multiple occasions in Neemuch town of the state. The incident came to light after police received the complaint from an anonymous caller on a child helpline service. "The caller told us that during the evening, the man in a drunken state use to beat his daughter every day. Later, officials made efforts to search the victim but only were able to find the girl after two days at her residence," Rakesh Mohan Shukla, Chief Superintendent of Police told ANI. He added that the victim's mother had left the accused almost three years back and the girl had since then been living with his father.
