RANCHI: The BJP on Monday said that any party leader contesting against its official candidates or indulging in anti-party activities stand expelled, per se. The statement was issued by the BJP's state unit president Laxman Gilua. "Those BJP leaders who are contesting against party's official candidates or opposing them publicly or indulging in anti-party activities, flouting party discipline stand expelled from the party per se," the statement said. This is the first official statement issued by the party in the face of some senior party leaders jumping into poll fray after being denied tickets for the ensuing assembly elections in the state. Prominent among them are former minister Saryu Roy, who is challenging Jharkhand chief minister Raghubar Das from Jamshedpur (East) after being denied ticket from his sitting seat, Jamshedpur (West). New Delhi: Key opposition party leaders of different states are likely to mark their attendance at the swearing-in ceremony of Karnataka CM-designate Kumaraswamy on Wednesday. All the anti-BJP forces will be seen gathering under one roof, signaling unity of opposition. As per the reports, invites have been sent to Congress President Rahul Gandhi, Mamta Banerjee of TMC from West Bengal, Akhilesh Yadav of Samajwadi Party from Uttar Pradesh and Sharad Pawar of NCP from Maharashtra. RJD leader Tejashwi yadav has even confirmed his presence in the ceremony. Tejashwi was the one who put pressure on Bihar governor for formation of RJD government in the state following the example of Karnataka after Vajubhai Vala invited Yeddyurappa for government formation. New Delhi: Former Congress President Rahul Gandhi is all set to return to lead the party and is likely to take over after the Delhi assembly polls early next year. A hint to this effect was dropped by Congress General Secretary, Organisation, K.C. Venugopal who said that country wants his leadership more now. Venugopal, who is accompanying Gandhi to his Kerala constituency Wayanad, told reporters: "The nation is going through a critical phase. The party needs his leadership and there is loud chorus from the workers to bring him again and we hope he will listen to them." A Congress session is scheduled in the next few months to ratify the appointment of interim President Sonia Gandhi.
