Greece eager to continue cooperation with China in post-pandemic era, says minister
ATHENS - The Greek government is eager to continue cooperation with China in the post-pandemic era, as China has contributed significantly to Greece's economic recovery in recent years, Greek Minister of Development and Investments Adonis Georgiadis told Xinhua in a recent interview. The COVID-19 pandemic plunged the Greek economy into recession. The country has just started to recover after a severe decade-long debt crisis that pushed it to the brink of bankruptcy. Priorities and timetables in the government's plans have changed, as has happened across the world. As mass vaccinations have brought hope for an exit from the health crisis, Greece wants to return to the right track and resume its collaboration with China in many fields at full speed, the minister said. "We are eager to continue our plans and our follow-up of investments here in Greece and find ways to leave behind all this pandemic crisis and continue our lives," Georgiadis said, ahead of the "two sessions" in ... » Learn More about Greece eager to continue cooperation with China in post-pandemic era, says minister

UK leads way in backing for vaccinations
Support for vaccinations against COVID-19 is growing in the United Kingdom and five other nations surveyed in a new study, which also showed that citizens in several countries are frustrated with the pace of the vaccines rollout. In the UK, 89 percent of respondents said they would choose to be vaccinated, or had been already, up from 65 percent in September. Sweden also showed a strong increase in acceptance, up to 76 percent from 51 percent in the fall. There were more modest rises in the United States (to 64 percent from 52 percent), Germany (to 73 percent from 60 percent) and Japan (to 64 percent from 53 percent), while France showed the smallest uptick in vaccine acceptance, climbing to 59 percent from 50 percent, according to the COVID-19 Opinion Tracker published by consultancy Kekst CNC on Monday. Zomato on course for $1 billion IPO without investor exits
Mumbai: Zomato , the food-delivery app poised to be the first among a growing tribe of Indian tech startups eyeing a listing this year, is expected to raise $750 million to $1 billion through its initial public offering (IPO), said two people familiar with the development. But unlike traditional IPOs, no investor is likely to exit or take money off the table by selling their shares. Deepinder Goyal, co-founder and chief executive officer of Zomato, told employees this week that the IPO will most probably be a 100% primary offering, keeping in mind the long-term upshot that the investors expect from the stock. This means the company will end up raising more capital, rather than shareholders offloading stock in the open market, Goyal said. "No existing shareholder is willing to sell any shares in our IPO… People think that Zomato will be a $50 billion company in five years (I hope) and it will be unwise to sell shares right now,” Goyal said at a recent town hall.
