The volcano, on Hawaii’s Big Island, exploded after two weeks of volcanic activity that spewed lava into nearby neighbourhoods, destroying 36 homes and structures. The US Geological Survey warned “ballistic blocks” the size of microwave ovens had shot from the volcano. The US Federal Aviation Administration has issued a ban on aircraft from entering airspace up to 9100m above the summit crater of the volcano. The ban applies to a 8km radius around the summit crater. And an online novel that spawned a raft of screen thrillers on the theme of this "haunted tower" on the Qinghai-Tibetan Plateau has grabbed people's imagination in recent years. It is perhaps hard to tell whether it is a spotlight or a gloomy shadow that has been cast over the Reshui graveyard, an archaeological site of around 300 tombs dating back to between the 6th and 8th centuries, in Dulan county, Qinghai province. Following allegations of a delay in the release of results, the Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission (TNPSC) has planned to release the results of the Group I Mains Examinations this month. The results of many of the competitive examinations conducted by the TNPSC have been reportedly delayed for the past few years, affecting lakhs of aspirants to the government services.Aspirants said the TNPSC had notified the direct recruitment of posts to fill 139 vacancies such as Deputy Collector, Deputy Superintendent of Police, Assistant Commissioner of Commercial Tax, Deputy Registrar of Cooperative Societies, District Registrar, Assistant Director of Rural Development, District Employment Officer and District Officer of Fire and Rescue Services in January this year.
