BARCELONA: Spanish automaker SEAT 's parent company Volkswagen wants a firm commitment from Brussels to support a potential project to manufacture electric cars in Spain, the German group's chief executive officer Herbert Diess said on Friday. The Spanish government announced on Thursday it will use European Union funds to create a public-private consortium with SEAT and power company Iberdrola that would build the country's first factory for electric-car batteries. SEAT said last year it was considering producing a small electric vehicle in Spain from 2025, but tied it to receiving public aid as carmakers ramp up production of electric vehicles to meet tougher emissions regulations. Mumbai: The Thane police recovered the body of Mansukh Hiren from Kalwa creek on Friday evening. Hiren is the registered owner of the explosive-laden Mahindra Scorpio that was found parked near the residence of RIL chairman Mukesh Ambani 's residence Antilia in Mumbai last month. Police suspect Hiren died by suicide by jumping into the Kalwa creek. He was missing since last night and the family was in the process of registering a missing person's complaint at Naupada police station when his body was found in Kalwa Creek. He was at the shop till yesterday evening. The police have so far registered an Accidental Death Report(ADR) and body has been sent for postmortem to ascertain the cause of death.
