A documentary retracing the route of St. Ignatius of Loyola in 1522 to become a "true soldier of Christ" is airing Friday afternoon on the Kapamilya network, as part of its Lenten broadcast. Produced by the Jesuit Communications Foundation, "Sangandaan: Paghahanap kay Hesus sa Camino Ignaciano" follows a group of pilgrims who share their spiritual journey and personal stories as they walk the same path as Ignatius. Total assets climbed P75.1 billion from P72.7 billion, while equity base rose P31.7 billion to P33.7 billion. According to ABS-CBN Group CFO Ron Valdueza, the firm’s digital terrestrial television (DTT) performed well. “Our target was to sell 1.5 million ABS-CBN TVPlus boxes in 2017, which would have brought our total box sales to about 3.8 … [Read more...] about ABS-CBN profit exceeds lower income guidance
EMETERIO SD. PEREZ LIKE Rappler, two media companies are also partly owned by foreigners. Yet, it seems the government, through the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), decided to pick only on Rappler. Unlike Rappler, though, ABS-CBN Holdings Corp. and GMA Holdings Inc., have issued their respective Philippine Depositary Receipts (PDRs), which represent their capital stock, and listed them on the Philippine Stock Exchange (PSE). No, Due Diligencer is not necessarily defending Rappler. Rather, this is only to point out the fact that the SEC should not be selective in applying the law. If media companies should be owned 100 percent by Filipinos as the Constitution so provides, so be it. But to punish only Rappler and spare the others is not fair, not only to public … [Read more...] about ABS-CBN, GMA7 too big for SEC’s Herbosa to fight?
