For a minimum of $2,000, a stylist will come home, design and fill your space with beautifully-potted plants, and provide a detailed care guide. It may not have caught on as much in India, but people like Archana Shivanandan (@plantstylistmumbai) are setting the tone. The marketing professional, who recently diversified her career, visits her clients’ homes, measures the light at various spots, and advises them on suitable plants, seating and even flooring. Not surprisingly, she receives some weird requests. “Everyone wants plants in their bathrooms! Most bathrooms in Mumbai don’t get any sunlight, yet people are obsessed with the idea [possibly after seeing them on Instagram].” For such requests, she kindly suggests artificial foliage.
