Nitish again disagrees with BJP, this time over population control law
In yet another sign that not everything is fine between Bihar's ruling partners, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar opposes the BJP's demand for a population control law -- even while seeking a caste-based census, a red flag for the BJP. Mr. Naidu was scheduled to attend two dharna programmes, one at the Gandhi statue in Tirupati and the other at the Gandhi Circle in Chittoor city, protesting against the ruling party’s ‘high-handed attitude’ in cracking down on opposition leaders. The Tirupati dharna was to show resentment over the manner in which the ruling YSR Congress Party government had allegedly misused its official machinery in pulling down a tea stall belonging to a TDP worker situated in front of a leading cinema theatre, dubbing it an ‘encroachment’. Women ad film makers: Is advertising unable to #ShareTheLoad?
advertisements in India. The company positioned the intent as “doing its part to build, fuel and connect a pipeline of diverse female talent in advertising , media and content opportunities as a systemic solution”. This resolve comes from a client whose iconic commercials like Whisper’s #TouchThePickle, Ariel #ShareTheLoad or Vicks #TouchOfCare invariably had male directors at the helm. In a business that traditionally describes the consumer as “she” and where women play a pivotal role in most ad commercials, is there a need for such a ‘systemic solution’? Is there a real dearth of female ad film makers, or artificial scarcity? That too in a scenario where plenty of women occupy senior roles in the creative side of the advertising business. Tista Sen , regional creative director, Wunderman Thompson, South Asia: Sen is first among women to believe there is no shortage. She says, "Is there really a dearth of women ad-film makers, or are we not looking hard ... » Learn More about Women ad film makers: Is advertising unable to #ShareTheLoad?
