THE Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) is bringing back its 30-minute “heat stroke break” for its personnel. “Our personnel’s safety is our paramount concern,” said MMDA Chairman Benjamin “Benhur” Abalos Jr. in a statement on Thursday night. “This special heat stroke break is available for traffic enforcers and street sweepers who work under the dry season’s searing heat and protect them from heat exhaustion, heat stroke and heat cramps,” Abalos said. Let’s start with some common terms related to Credit Score such as what it is, why is it important and what is considered to be a good credit score in the UK. What is a Credit Score? A credit score is an indicator that lenders such as banks will use as a reference to determine if you can pay your loan amount due on time. This gives financial institutions like banks a reasonable level of confidence that you will not default on your loan. A credit score is like your track record with earlier payments. Johnson has shrugged off questions about costly renovations to his Downing Street flat and campaigned on his record as the leader who finally "got Brexit done" LONDON - Prime Minister Boris Johnson's Conservatives looked set for an upset victory in a northern opposition stronghold Friday, after Britain held its first major electoral test since Brexit and the coronavirus crisis. The "Super Thursday" regional and local elections could reshape the UK as pro-independence forces in Scotland bid to break away. Results for the Scottish Parliament are due on Saturday. But as results from England trickled in on Friday morning, the opposition Labour party said they had "not got over the line" in the UK parliamentary seat of Hartlepool, a rust-belt port constituency deep in its northeastern heartland which has never voted Conservative since its creation in 1974. The strongly pro-Brexit constituency's by-election was called alongside the local polls after its Labour incumbent quit over ... » Learn More about UK ruling party set for shock win in opposition stronghold
INQUIRER.net Stock Photo An elderly couple apparently took advantage of their knowledge of Morse code to escape from their assisted living facility in Tennessee in the United States. The married couple, whose names were withheld, broke out of a secured memory unit at the Elmcroft facility in Wilson County’s Lebanon on March 2, as per The Tennessean yesterday, April 30. While they were only lost for around 30 minutes, their brief escape on March 2 was made possible because of their Morse code experience, according to court documents from the Tennessee Board for Licensing Health Care Facilities, as cited by the newspaper. The two, who have dementia and Alzheimer’s, were only found after a stranger spotted them walking down a road near the care home. When they were escorted back to the facility, the staff asked how they managed to get through the electronic keypad, to which the husband replied that he “previously worked with Morse code in the military.” He said he used this ... » Learn More about Elderly couple ostensibly use Morse code to break out of care facility
British families are sending elderly relatives with dementia overseas to Thailand in a small but growing trend. Researchers visiting private care homes in Chiang Mai have found eight homes where guests from the UK are living thousands of miles away from their families, because suitable care in their home country was impossible to find or afford. “Thailand already has a long history of medical tourism and it’s now setting itself up as an international hub for dementia care,” said Dr Caleb Johnston , a senior lecturer in human geography at Newcastle University . Some of the facilities are British-run; some are Thai-run but with substantial investment from British citizens; and some are Swiss-run. All have the backing and support of the Thai government. “The government and private investors are very active in cultivating this as part of their economic development,” Johnston added. There are an estimated 850,000 people living with dementia in the UK. Local authority ... » Learn More about British Families Sending Relatives with Dementia to Thailand
Chelsea reached the Champions League final after a 2-0 win over Real Madrid completed a 3-1 aggregate victory in the semi-final on Wednesday Thomas Tuchel’s side will meet Manchester City in Istanbul after a fully deserved triumph at Stamford Bridge, secured through Timo Werner and Mason Mount. The Germany international’s first open-play goal in the competition since September 2019 put the Blues ahead before Mount converted from close range in the closing stages after the hosts had missed a plethora of second-half openings as they countered Madrid with ease. Zinedine Zidane’s men looked out of sorts in a makeshift 3-4-3, even with captain Sergio Ramos and former Chelsea star Eden Hazard back in the side, as their winless record against the Premier League club stretched to five matches. Following a quiet start, Werner had the ball in the net after 18 minutes but the forward had strayed offside before meeting Ben Chilwell’s low cross. Real Madrid enjoyed 73 per cent of the ... » Learn More about Chelsea Reaches Champions League With 2-0 Win Over Real Madrid

Which may keep him from getting his way in the upcoming cabinet reshuffle. Somjai Phagaphasvivat, a political scientist at Thammasat University, said the latest developments indicated the fight the Palang Pracharath Party (PPRP) has on its hands to control the government’s handling of the economy.
