Jose Robaina, a researcher at Cuba's International Policy Research Center, said China has been making unprecedented efforts in the fight against corruption since the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China (CPC) in 2012. China has taken a long-term approach to tackling corruption and has achieved remarkable results in its campaign, garnering trust from the Chinese people and providing inspiration for many Latin American countries, the scholar said. ISRO veterans recall workhorse rocket PSLV’s journey ahead of its 50th launch
Indian Space Research Organisation's (ISRO) most-reliable workhorse the Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle (PSLV) is gearing up to lift-off for its 50th time from the Satish Dhawan Space Center in Sriharikota, with the launch scheduled for 3:25 pm on Wednesday. PSLV is the third generation launch vehicle of India. It is the first Indian launch vehicle to be equipped with liquid stages. The rocket’s primary payload will be an Indian Radar imaging earth observation satellite (RISAT-2BR1) weighing about 628 kg, which will be placed into a 576 km orbit. ISRO states that the RISAT -2BR1 would be used for agriculture, forestry and disaster management. As a part of a commercial agreement, ISRO will also be launching nine foreign satellites as co-passengers of the Indian satellite. The customer satellites include six US satellites, besides one each from Israel, Italy and Japan. "Wen," or stability, reflects China's efforts in maintaining stability in response to a changing world over the past year. China, Japan to act jointly on energy conservation and ecological protection
Cooperation on energy savings and environmental protection between China and Japan was further cemented on Sunday with 26 agreements wrapping up the China-Japan energy conservation and environmental protection forum. "Ecological protection is a fundamental element for the sustainable development of humankind," Zhang Yong, the deputy head of the National Development and Reform Commission, said at the forum. He added that the Chinese leadership had always accorded high priority to economic development consistent with environmental protection and conservation. Xinjiang a role model in eradicating terrorism
Terrorism and extremism have plagued many countries in recent decades. To counter this threat, different nations have come up with various strategies and policies, but these measures have succeeded only partially because they do not address the root cause of the problem. China, however, has achieved success in tackling this issue. Xinjiang, which was once a hotbed of terrorism, with people of the region bearing the brunt of terror attacks, has not seen a single attack in the past three years. This is in sharp contrast to the period from 1990s to 2016 when several innocent people lost their lives and suffered property damage due to religious extremism and terrorism. No responsible government could tolerate such a situation on its own soil.
