TCS bags 5G deal from Three UK telco
NEW DELHI: Global IT services, consulting, and enterprise solutions provider Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) on Monday said it has bagged a 5G deal from Three UK telco. Three is in the process of deploying a new 5G radio access network which has been made live in 175 towns and cities in the UK, across more than 1,000 sites. The partnership between the two companies will see TCS configuring the core network for new site deployments, site upgrades, and optimization of 3G and 4G technologies. TCS said its software will speed-up the configuration and reduce manual errors, enabling first-time correct configuration. “These improvements will help Three deliver faster, secure, and more reliable 5G services to its customers,” the enterprise services provider said. Bharti Airtel plans to raise $1 billion through perpetual bonds
In the first week of 2021, Indian companies raised $2.1 billion from overseas markets --- about 15% of the total debt raised from offshore lenders and the most mobilized during the opening week of a year.About two dozen Indian companies collectively raised $14.01 billion abroad in 2020, down from $26.5 billion the previous year, show data from Dealogic, a global analytics firm.Sovereign-backed State Bank of India, Exim Bank and privately held Shriram Transport Finance sold bonds at historic low rates in the past week. SBI raised $600 million, five-and-a-half-year money, offering a 1.8%. Shriram Transport Finance mopped up $500 million (three-and-a-half years) at 4.4%.
