BANGKOK (REUTERS) - Thailand's junta chief Prayut Chan-o-cha called on Thursday (June 6) for national unity and thanked members of Parliament after they voted him in as a civilian prime minister, five years after he seized power in a military coup. The late Wednesday vote followed a general election on March 24, the first since Mr Prayut's 2014 coup, when he ousted an elected government and ushered in a phase of strict military rule. The opposition Democratic Front of seven parties that voted for Mr Thanathorn says the electoral system was designed to extend and legitimise military domination of a civilian government. Is the success of the Marlies raising expectations for the Maple Leafs? Is it realistic that the players starring for the Marlies will eventually star for the Maple Leafs? And how long is “eventually?” There is no question the Marlies are buoyed by some real solid veterans who don’t get a great deal of the spotlight. Chris Mueller, an 11-year AHL veteran, has never gotten a sniff at the NHL level. But Mueller is the perfect centre for Jeremy Bracco, the 22-year-old whose gone from playoff healthy scratch last year to star scorer this year. Article Continued Below Vincent LoVerde, an eight-year AHLer at 30, is a calming influence on the blue line, and surely a help to Rasmus Sandin, 19, and Timothy Liljegren, who just turned 20.
