LUCKNOW A teacher of a private school in Jankipuram area was booked for allegedly causing ear injury to a Class 6 boy by slapping him. The case was registered against the teacher on the complaint filed by the victim Utkarsh’s father, said cops.The complainant, Sanjay Singh lodged FIR against the teacher, Ashvendra Singh, a resident of Barabanki. The case was registered under Sections 323 and 326 of the Indian Penal Code, said Mohd Ashraf, station house officer (SHO).“The incident took place on December 3 when the Maths teacher slapped the boy, Utkarsh during class. When I came to know about the incident, I told the school manager to inquire into the incident. The teacher admitted to the mistake,” said Sharmila Singh, owner of Pioneer Montessori School. “The boy is fine and is coming to school daily. Namibia launches book honoring founding president
Video PlayerClose WINDHOEK, Dec. 9 (Xinhua) -- Namibia on Monday launched a book honoring its founding president, Sam Nujoma. The book, "Teaching and leading by example: Sam Nujoma," depicts him as a pragmatic and visionary leader who led Namibia in pursuit of justice, rule of law, gender equality and self-determination. Speaking at the launch, Prime Minister Saara Kuugongelwa-Amadhila said Nujoma led with distinction and example. "It is only a humble and dignified leader who after having defeated a bitter enemy, can hold out an olive branch in the spirit of peace and reconciliation to forgive past wrongs and move towards building a nation," she said. Because of his humility, Kuugongelwa-Amadhila said, Nujoma laid a solid foundation of peace in a country torn apart by war. Woman booked for driving husband to commit suicide in Pune
A woman has been booked by the Hadapsar police for abetment of suicide of her husband at their residence in Magarpatta, Hadapsar.The deceased man has been identified as Pranay Milind Khutal, 29, a resident of Zinnia building in Magarpatta. He is suspected to have committed suicide, by hanging himself, on the night intermidiate of December 6 and December 7.The complaint was lodged by Sangita Khutal, 49, the mother of the deceased man. Khutal lives in Limboda village of Hatod taluka in Indore, Madhya Pradesh. The deceased’s mother told the police in the complaint that the accused woman made Pranay do the household chores, which led him to commit suicide.The complainant told the police that the wife would beat Pranay up, force him to wash clothes and utensils and make tea, according to the police.The accused woman has been identified as Kanika Khutal, who is in her late 20s. NIA books case against TVV leader
The National Investigation Agency, Hyderabad unit, registered a case against Telangana Vidyarthi Vedika (TVV) president Bandari Maddileti for his alleged links with banned Communist Party of India (Maoist).Mr. Maddileti, who was accused of actively working for banned Maoist party by recruiting new cadre and collecting funds was booked by the NIA under Unlawful Activities Prevention Act (UAPA) and Section 120-A (conspiracy) of Indian Penal Code. On October 15, he was arrested by the Jogulamba-Gadwal police on similar charges. The Telangana Intelligence’s anti-Naxal Special Intelligence Bureau (SIB), Gadwal district police and Hyderabad police conducted searches at his residence in Nallakunta and seized several incriminating documents and other electronic material.
