New Delhi: Central Asia's biggest nation and resource rich Kazakhstan made a major foray in Eastern Indian markets through Kazakh-Indian Investment Forum in Kolkata on Friday. The Forum was organized by the Embassy of Kazakhstan in India jointly with the National Company “Kazakh Invest” and Merchant’s Chamber of Commerce & Industry (MCCI). Representatives of the Engineering Export Promotion Council (EEPC), the Federation of Indian Export Organizations (FIEO), expert and academic circles, media as well as the leaders of more than 50 major Indian companies (India power, RUPA Company Limited, JG Chemicals, KK Group, Multiwyn Group and other) the participated the Forum. Current NSG chair Kazakhstan pushes for global elimination of nuclear weapons
NEW DELHI: Kazakhstan, the current Nuclear Suppliers Group or NSG chair and one of biggest producers of uranium globally, has emphasised on total elimination of nuclear weapons. “On August 29, 1991 the First President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev made a truly historic decision by closing the largest Semipalatinsk nuclear test site with his decree. The example of Kazakhstan was followed by other countries that ceased the functioning of nuclear test sites, which in turn paved the way for the adoption of the Comprehensive Nuclear-Test-Ban Treaty in 1996,” Ambassador of Kazakhstan to India Bulat Sarsenbayev said.
