Nagpur: A five-year-old girl was found killed with her head smashed on an agriculture farm in Linga village in Maharashtra's Nagpur district on Sunday, police said. The deceased was missing since December 6 afternoon. "The body of the girl with a serious head injury was found in the agriculture farm on Sunday afternoon where she lived with her parents," a Kalmeshwar police station officer said, adding that prima facie someone smashed her head with a stone. He said police are awaiting postmortem report to ascertain the exact cause of the death and to know whether the girl was sexually assaulted. A case of murder has been registered under section 302 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). A police official said that parents of the girl live on the one side of the agriculture farm while her grandmother on the another side, with a small path connecting both the houses. A five-year-old boy Indraneel hailing from Dharmavaram died in Sishucare Speciality Hospital in the city in the early hours of Sunday after three days of treatment at the nursing home run by a doctor identified as Moulali. A hue and cry was raised by the boy’s father Lokesh and family members alleging negligence of the doctor, which led to the death of the boy. District Medical and Health Officer K.V.N.S. Anil Kumar told The Hindu that after preliminary investigation into the incident, the district medical team found fault with the treatment and sealed the consultation rooms and wards of the hospital. “A notice has been served on Moulali for not monitoring and treating the boy for notifiable disease and failing to refer to a higher institution of paediatric medical care. A Pakistani national who had been ‘illegally’ eking out a livelihood as a painter in Gadivemula village of Kurnool district in Andhra Pradesh was dramatically detained near a hotel in Secunderabad last week.He was trying to go back to his country with his wife and five children. Shaik Gulzar Khan alias Gulzar Masih (51), who had been deported from Dubai in January 2008 and managed to reach India, was detained by the Counter Intelligence Cell and Special Investigation Team of the Telangana police. A family of three met watery grave when the car in which they were travelling plunged into a canal that runs along the road under Kulasekaram police station limits on Sunday.The police identified the victims as H. Anish, 30, of Anjukandarai, his wife Manju, 27, and their 18-month-old son Amarnath. They said the victims were returning home after purchasing things in Kulasekaram. When the car was proceeding on the road along the Left Canal of Kothaiyaru, Anish lost control of the vehicle, which jumped into the water. Since the flow of water was heavy in the canal, the trio got trapped inside the car. Local people rushed to their help and brought out the trio, who were lying unconscious.
