Reverse migration has also put additional stress on an already overburdened rural health system, impacting its capacity not only in caring for those who have contracted the virus, but also other health and wellness issues in these regions. Despite an increase in electrification under Saubhagya, many health facilities are forced to function without proper electricity supply. Hospitals use diesel generators as back-up sources of power. These solutions are expensive, maintenance is difficult, and they contribute to air pollution in the area. The country's GDP growth is likely to be at 3.6% in January-March 2020 as economic activity came to a complete halt due to the countrywide lockdown imposed to contain the coronavirus outbreak, says a report. The government will release the fourth quarter GDP data on Friday. "We expect GDP growth in Q4 to be 3.6 per cent with the headline number coming down to 4.7 per cent for the entire year," rating agency Care Ratings said in a report. The expected growth of 3.6 per cent will be an all-time low in the GDP new series, it said. In the first three quarters of FY2020, the growth was 5.1 per cent. Recently, SBI research report- Ecowrap, has predicted fourth quarter GDP growth at 1.2 per cent, with full year growth expected to be at 4.2 per cent. The report said the fourth quarter GDP growth numbers will be noteworthy as it includes one week of lockdown which has the potential to skew the growth numbers. Labour ministry will impart free skills training to the job seekers registered on its National Career Service (NCS) portal. "The ministry has tied up with TCS ION to offer course on soft skills to assist job seekers enhance personality development," labour ministry said in a statement on Friday. The training will encompass modules on corporate etiquette, improving inter personal skills, making impactful presentation including other necessary soft skills needed by the industry. The training module is available in two languages, Hindi and English, on the NCS portal. Labour ministry has been implementing the NCS project for some years now to provide a variety of employment related services like job search, job matching, career counselling, vocational guidance, information on skill development courses, apprenticeship and internships.
