Petrol and diesel costliest ever in Mumbai The price of petrol is at a record high in Mumbai today as it crossed the Rs 92 mark for the first time. In the financial capital of the country, the price of petrol now stands at Rs 92.04 per litre. The diesel price in Mumbai is Rs 82.40 per litre. The State-controlled oil marketing companies (OMCs) increased the pump prices of petrol and diesel again on Friday across the country, after keeping the rates static for two days. Following today’s rate revision, petrol prices were hiked by 22-25 paise a litre while the price of diesel was raised by 23-27 paise across major metro cities. On the other hand, in Delhi, petrol prices jumped to Rs 85.45 a litre as against Rs 85.20 per litre on Thursday while diesel is retailing at Rs 75.63 per litre, according to the data from Indian Oil Corporation website.
