Now in the 2018 FilOil Flying V Preseason Cup, though, it was still the same result. With Thirdy Ravena leading the way, the Blue Eagles topped the Green Archers anew, 81-75, in overtime on Tuesday at the FilOil Flying V Centre. Ravena fired 17 points on top of five rebounds, three assists, two steals, and two blocks, while Ivorian reinforcement Angelo Kouame also made an impact with a 16-point, 18-rebound double-double as the UAAP champions re-asserted their mastery over their archrivals and registered a clean sweep of the elimination round. UP, Ateneo, La Salle slip in QS world university rankings Patricia Lourdes Viray (philstar.com) - June 7, 2018 - 9:33am MANILA, Philippines — The University of the Philippines remains the top university in the country but its overall ranking in the world dropped from 367th in 2017 to 384th in 2018, according to the latest QS World University Rankings. The premier state university garnered an overall score of 28.8 this year, a 4.1-point drop from its 32.9 overall score last year. "UP Diliman is not only the home of diverse colleges, offering 94 graduate and undergraduate courses, it also runs several centers of research, many of which have been declared by the Commission on Higher Education as National Centers of Excellence," QS said on its website. MANILA – Former De La Salle University guard Brent Paraiso has transferred to University of Santo Tomas, where he will reunite with coach Aldin Ayo. MANILA -- The Mapua University Cardinals continue to impress. The mostly homegrown Cardinals lost the lead, then rallied to upend a young and talented National University (NU) team, 87-82, to win their third match in the FilOil Flying v Preseason Cup. After NU rookie Dave Ildefonso tied the match for the seventh and last time with a free throw, 78-all, with 2:26 to play, Mapua’s Lawrence Victoria hit two free throws and a tough turn-around jumper over Shaun Ildefonso for a huge four-point lead with 1:43 left. Returning NU gunner JV Gallego who sat out a year due to academic concerns, hit two free throws, but Victoria added threw more free throws as NU self-destructed once more in the end game.
