March 02, 2021 09:00 Korean-American director Lee Isaac Chung's film "Minari" won the Best Foreign Language Film award at the Golden Globes on Sunday. It became the second Korean film to achieve the feat following director Bong Joon-ho's "Parasite" last year. This year's awards ceremony was broadcast live from Los Angeles and New York, with the nominees and winners attending the event virtually. The film, starring Steven Yeun, Han Ye-ri and Youn Yuh-jung, tells the story of a Korean family who move to a small town in Arkansas in the 1980s in pursuit of the American dream. Despite being American-produced, and written and directed by an American director, the film was categorized as a foreign language film, as most of the dialogue is in Korean, disqualifying it for Best Picture. "Minari" has bagged some 75 awards so far at a number of international film festivals and film critics' awards. Winning a Golden Globe is seen as boosting its chances of winning at the ... » Learn More about ‘Minari’ Wins Golden Globe for Best Foreign Language Film
