Cricket seems to be returning in the mind-space of Bollywood filmmakers, with a few high-profile projects lined up for release next year. In 2020, Ranveer Singh plays Kapil Dev in 83, Kabir Khan's film about India's historic victory at the cricket World Cup of 1983. Shahid Kapoor, after Kabir Singh, seems to have struck gold with remakes of Telugu hits. His next, Jersey is a Bollywood remake of Gowtham Tinnanuri's Telugu film of the same name, and it narrates the story of a failed cricketer who decides to revive his career against all odds despite being in his late thirties. Then there is the Mithali Raj biopic, which stars Taapsee Pannu as the protagonist. A film titled God Of Cricket has also been announced on cricketing legend Sachin Tendulkar's birthday this year. Mumbai: After playing a Bal Thackeray doppelganger in Ram Gopal Varma's "Sarkar" series, it is time for the indefatigable Amitabh Bachchan to play yet another real-life character in "Sairat" director Nagaraj Manjules new film -- his first in Hindi. In the film which is yet to get a title Big B plays Vijay Barse who more than a decade ago, established the Nagpur based NGO Slum Soccers which helps slum kids find their bearings through the game of football. Though he is more than happy to speak about his adulation for Bachchan, Manjule is reluctant to talk about the project he will start shooting with the megastar in October. Pune: With the Maharashtra HSC examination results announced on Tuesday, many eyes were on the performance of one student - the National Award-winning heroine Prerana 'Rinku' M. Rajguru. And the superhit film "Sairaat" actress scored big - even in the Class 12 board exams - securing an impressive 533/650, or 82 percent, in all her seven subjects. Her marksheet showed that she scored 54 in English, 86 each in Marathi and History, 98 in Geography, 83 in Political Science and 77 in Economics (all out of 100) and 49 out of 50 in Environment Education. Next Uruguay striker Luis Suarez is to have surgery on his knee on Thursday morning, just over three weeks before the start of the World Cup, according to local media reports.Suarez helped Uruguay to fourth place at the last World Cup in South Africa four years ago and was expected to play a key role in the country's campaign at the June 12-July 13 tournament in Brazil.According to a report on the website of Uruguayan TV station Tenfield, the 27-year-old Liverpool striker had an MRI scan on Wednesday which revealed damage to the meniscus in the knee with the team doctor deciding surgery was necessary.Recovery from such arthroscopic surgery takes from 15 to 20 days, according to the report, leaving Suarez little room for manoeuvre before Uruguay play their first match against Costa Rica in Fortaleza on June 14.Uruguay also face England and Italy in opening round Group D.- Please click NEXT for more...
