Negative COVID-19 test report to be mandatory for those coming from five high-risk states to Delhi
New Delhi: Amid a spike in coronavirus infections in five states, the Delhi government is likely to make it mandatory for travellers coming from high-risk states, including Maharashtra, Kerala and Punjab, to show negative Covid-19 test report on arrival in the national capital. Sources said that the Delhi government is likely to issue an order in this regard amid a surge in the cases of coronavirus disease in some areas. Travellers from Maharashtra, Kerala and Punjab are among the five high-risk states who will be required to show a negative COVID-19 test report before entering the national capital. They said an official order will be issued later in the day and it will be effective till March 15. People travelling in flights, trains and buses from these states will have to produce negative test report before entering Delhi, they said. MHA directs closure of two special Delhi Covid centres as cases decline
The Union Home Ministry has directed a phased closure of two special and temporary Covid care centres in the city in view of "continuous decline" in coronavirus cases, officials said on Tuesday. While the Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel Covid hospital located in the Delhi Cantonment area is managed by the DRDO, the Sardar Patel Covid Care Centre operational in south Delhi's Chhattarpur area is managed by the ITBP. As per a directive accessed by PTI, the Ministry of Home Affairs ( MHA ) has asked the Defence Research and Development Organisation to "close down" the facility run by it and directed the Armed Forces Medical Services (AFMS) to withdraw their health professionals manning this centre and ordered the same with "immediate effect" to the ITBP for the Chhattarpur facility. New Delhi : With states like Maharashtra and Kerala not only witnessing a spike in the number of Covid-19 cases but also two variants of the coronavirus being detected there, the Delhi government is not taking any chances and has started making preparations to counter any eventuality. “Delhi government’s health department has chalked out initial plans to deal with the mutant strains and a special ward at Lok Nayak Hospital (LNJP) is being created for treatment of patients in case anyone is found infected with one of the new strains,” said sources. 44% rape victims identified their culprits as relatives, family members, reveals Delhi Police data
New Delhi: Delhi Police in its annual press conference revealed that as per their data majority of rape victims in the national capital know their culprit. In over 44 percent of the cases registered with the police in the year 2019-20 the victim identified their rapist as either a relative or member of their family. Additionally, the data also revealed that over 26 percent of the culprits are known to the victim, whereas 12 percent are directly related to them. Also, almost 12 percent of the accused came from the victim's neighbour, while only 2 per cent of the accused in the rape case came out who had no relation with the victim. The figures from 2019-20 once again proved that women are more prone to assault from their relatives, neighbours and family members. New Delhi: As the winter season draws to an end in Delhi, the lowest temperature on Saturday (February 20) morning was recorded at 13 degrees Celsius. Light to Moderate fog was forecasted but commuters faced difficulties as the dense fog reduced visibility. The pollution levels remain in the 'very poor' category in the national capital. The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) noted that the maximum temperature in Delhi was recorded at 28 degrees Celsius on Friday (February 19) while the minimum temperature dipped to 9.9 degrees Celsius. The maximum temperature was two degrees Celsius above normal while the minimum temperature was one degree Celsius below normal. The pollution levels recorded in Delhi have remained in the 'very poor' category, showing no signs of improvement in the past few months.
