· January 24, 2021 ·

By Abhishek SahuAmidst the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic, the Narendra Modi government is gearing up to present the next Union Budget in just over a week's time. India’s aim of becoming self-reliant and a $5 trillion economy will depend a lot on the education and the skill levels of its citizens.“Currently, there is a mismatch in certain areas between the skills that the industry requires and those possessed by the youth in our country. Hence, the Indian automotive sector may face a huge void if the structured reforms and initiatives are not taken to bridge the demand supply mismatch for the skilled workforce,” said Nikunj Sanghi, Chairman, Automotive Skills Development Council (ASDC).In an exclusive interaction with ETHRWorld, Nikunj Sanghi also talked about how ASDC is doing a lot of training activities, along with the teams of various zones, including holding webinars and launching various courses. Dilip Chhabria: A victim of his own phenomenal ambition?

· January 24, 2021 ·

Mumbai: It's an irony that what was supposed to be a big leap 'forward' for Dilip Chhabria, the only super-carmaker who built the country's first real sports car DC Avanti, has turned out to be his nemesis. Chhabria, the founder of DC Designs, was arrested by the Mumbai police on December 28, 2020 allegedly for cheating and defrauding car buyers and financiers, and the man who changed the face of automobile design in this part of the world since the early 1990s is now languishing in a city jail. But the final blow to what was his biggest, boldest dream was when a DC Avanti customer from Tamil Nadu claimed to have found his prized possession already registered in someone else's name in Haryana and was also hypothecated twice. This happened soon after the comedian Kapil Sharma moved the economic offences wing of the city police complaining that despite paying full amount for a vanity van long ago, Chhabria did not deliver the van. According to the joint police commissioner (crime) Milind … [Read more...] about Dilip Chhabria: A victim of his own phenomenal ambition?

CCI urges Govt to ensure adequate 5G airwaves at affordable rates for a competitive landscape

· January 24, 2021 ·

Kolkata: The Competition Commission of India (CCI) has urged the government to ensure adequate 5G airwaves are auctioned at affordable rates amid acute financial stress in the debt-laden telecom sector. Otherwise, it said, the more profitable telecom operators could end up enjoying an unfair edge in deploying the fast mobile broadband technology in the country and make the 5G market uncompetitive.Creating a competitive 5G market, it said, is crucial for the ultra-fast wireless broadband technology to work in India, which would require assignment of ample 5G airwaves at a reasonable cost to ensure the capital market stays interested in funding such network upgradation and expansion, including acquisition of 5G spectrum. The antitrust watchdog also underlined in a telecom market study the criticality of ringing in greater harmonisation across the respective jurisdictions of the CCI, the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (Trai), the Department of Telecommunications (DoT) and the future … [Read more...] about CCI urges Govt to ensure adequate 5G airwaves at affordable rates for a competitive landscape
