GURUGRAM : With increase in construction activities and roads not being cleaned, residents of Sector 108 and 109 along the Dwarka-expressway said that the area has turned into a dust bowl. Residents blamed the lack of enforcement of environmental norms while carrying out construction activities behind the increase in dust pollution. They added that this is posing a serious threat to their health. Residents added that a 1.5-km stretch from Conscient One to Shobha International City and the road connecting Dwarka Expressway is full of layers of dust, and traffic movement is making the matter worse. Besides, uncovered construction material, unpaved roads, dumping of construction material on roadsides, illegal dumping of C&D waste are also adding to the problems of the residents. Startup jobs seen aplenty in 2021 as post-pandemic hiring gathers pace
Mumbai: Startups are likely to witness a strong hiring uptick this year, courtesy a bounceback in business and revenue, with growth for some even surpassing pre-pandemic levels. The pace of recruitment will increase this year, said about 72% of startup founders surveyed by debt fund InnoVen Capital in its annual Startup Outlook Report. Startups operating in logistics, digital media , e-commerce and deep-tech sectors are the most bullish about hiring. “At the beginning of the festive season in August and September last year, demand came back and the pervasive changes in consumer behaviour also played to the strengths of digital-first consumer-focused business models,” Ashish Sharma, chief executive officer of InnoVen Capital, said in the report. Energy saving: Andhra Pradesh makes a mark in PAT cycle-II scheme
Visakhapatnam: With cumulative energy savings in industry reaching 0.25 million tonnes, Andhra Pradesh has demonstrated an appreciable performance in cycle-II of PAT (Perform, Achieve and Trade) scheme. This is a significant improvement from 0.21 million tonnes in cycle-I of the scheme. Further, Andhra Pradesh has achieved 0.89 million tonnes carbon dioxide reduction in PAT cycle-II, thereby registering a marked improvement from 0.73 million tonnes carbon dioxide equivalent in the first edition of the scheme. The energy efficiency measures have been implemented in 22 energy-intensive units in Andhra Pradesh including cement, fertiliser, pulp, paper, power generation and chemicals. These measures coupled with IoT-enabled efficiency measures helped the state save 238 crore units of electricity worth Rs1,600 crore.
