City-based poet Prakash Katyayan ‘Saheb’ will recite his original poetry in Hindi and Urdu. “Just as a ghazal can incorporate many themes within itself, I dabble with different genres in my writing, such as satire, humour and romance,” says Katyayan, who will also help his audience differentiate between a ghazal and nazm in Urdu writing. In the Marathi segment, storyteller Suvarna Sridhar will narrate an adaptation of a story by Satyajit Ray. The other two performances will be of original works by the performers. Sharvari Pethkar’s Kasturiche Rahasya brings traditional oral narrative from central Maharashtra, drawing a connection between a mythical story, a rustic woman’s life, and the fragrance of the musk deer.
