DCP (Control) Vijaykumar Patel said, “While we can take care during festivals, marriage season is difficult as we get calls from all over the city, from multiple areas as that is not concentrated and may take place in any hall, ground or society.” More awareness, more calls Data from Ahmedabad police reveals that the control room received 916 more calls in the first 10 months of 2019 than those in the same period last year. While the police received 8,852 calls from January 1to October 31 in 2018, the number rose to 9,768 calls in the same period in 2019. This is a rise of 916 calls over the 10-month period. While there is definite rise in calls made by Amdavadis, police say the control system registers each call as a separate one, even though they may come from the same caller or may be about the same source of nuisance.
