It’s more a case of David and Goliath than “Batman v Superman.” Indeed, while the two conflicting parties grappling for their versions of the truth in HBO’s explosive four-part documentary “Allen v. Farrow” are both Hollywood celebrities, you don’t need to be an expert at rocket science to realize just how powerful one is compared to the other. We’re talking about four-time Oscar-winning writer-actor-director Woody Allen (“Annie Hall,” “Manhattan,” “Hannah and Her Sisters”) and his muse-turned-nemesis actress Mia Farrow (“Rosemary’s Baby,” “The Great Gatsby”). In the ’80s and early ’90s, the fabled couple did 13 films together. Woody, who’s now 85 years old, has made a film every year for 40 straight years, and is now preparing to shoot his 51st film—how prolific can you get? At least 37 confirmed dead in West Sulawesi earthquake
A powerful earthquake rocked West Sulawesi island Friday, killing at least 37 people, levelling a hospital and severely damaging other buildings, authorities said, as they warned there were people still trapped beneath rubble. Hundreds were also injured when the 6.2-magnitude quake struck in the early hours, triggering panic among the terrified residents of the island, which was hit by a huge quake and tsunami two and a half years ago that killed thousands. So far, 29 bodies have been hauled from beneath crumpled buildings in Mamuju, a city of about 110,000 in West Sulawesi province, while another eight were killed south of the area after the quake struck. "We don't know how many more are missing," said Arianto from the rescue agency in Mamuju, who like many Indonesians goes by one name. "There are still people trapped beneath the rubble." Rescuers were searching for more than a dozen patients and staff trapped under a levelled Mamuju hospital. Covid-19: Nigerian variant does not affect ability to detect, trace infected persons
KUALA LUMPUR (Bernama): The Nigerian variant B1.525 of Covid-19 has important mutations in its spike protein but they do not affect the ability to detect or trace a person infected with the variant, says Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah (pic) . The Health director-general said this is because existing polymerase chain reaction (PCR) kits use multiple targets to detect variants even though that person can be asymptomatic. "Currently, no data suggests that this variant is of more virulence or causes increased fatality, ” he said in a media statement Saturday (March 6) in response to questions on the Nigerian variant. From laboratory study reports, Dr Noor Hisham said, mutation E484K which was also seen in other variants, including the South African (B.1.351) and Brazilian (P.1) variants, had been associated with some level of resistance to neutralising antibodies which were needed to confer protection. The resistance means a possible reduction in the effectiveness of natural ... » Learn More about Covid-19: Nigerian variant does not affect ability to detect, trace infected persons

Ellen Adarna Nowadays, Ellen Adarna said she’d make sure that the people she hangs out with have all been tested negative from COVID-19, or those who hardly go out of their homes, too. Such was the case of the people she had dinner with recently—the one hosted by controversial actor Derek Ramsay, who has been linked to her. “It was safe because we’re neighbors. He lives five houses away from where I’m staying. It was a get-together of people we know from the village,” the actress told Inquirer Entertainment in a recent exclusive virtual chat. Also invited to the party was their “neighbor” Ruffa Gutierrez, whose Instagram photos and videos of Ellen and Derek have already gone viral. Morikawa cruises to WGC victory, pays tribute to Woods
MIAMI: Collin Morikawa fired a three-under-par 69 to clinch a three-shot victory at the World Golf Championships-Workday Championship in Florida on Sunday (Monday in Manila). The 24-year-old PGA Championship winner — who led by two after third round — relied on accurate iron play and nerveless putting to close out victory at the Concession Golf Club in Bradenton. Morikawa’s final round saw him finish on 18 under with a 72-hole aggregate 270, three shots clear of Viktor Hovland, Brooks Koepka and Billy Horschel on 15 under. After an early stumble when he bogeyed the par-four second, Morikawa recovered his composure to play flawlessly thereafter. A 195-yard second shot on the fifth hole left him with a seven-foot birdie putt, which he duly rolled in to return to even for the round. A deft bunker shot on the seventh set up another birdie chance which he converted and he made the turn at two under after making an 11-foot birdie putt on the ninth.
