The wife of former AFL star Liam Picken has appealed for help to find the owner of a dog involved in a bloody attack in Melbourne yesterday. Blogger Annie Nolan, 30, uploaded pictures on Instagram showing her left hand and arm, as well as part of her face and T-shirt, covered in dried blood after the attack in Footscray at around 3pm on Sunday. Nolan was reportedly in her car before jumping out to help when one dog bit a smaller one. She uploaded photos of a small, white dog whose fur was streaked with blood as she asked for information so she could get in contact with one of the owners. Gunmen on motorcycles opened fire from their pistols with silencers on civil society activist Haqi Ismael and killed him when he was driving in Baghdad's northeastern neighborhood of al-Shaab, the official told Xinhua on condition of anonymity. Separately, another civil society activist Thaer Karim al-Tayb was wounded when a sticky bomb attached to his car detonated in the city of Diwaniyah, some 180 km south of Baghdad, the official said. While a debate on justice for women who face abuse and cruelty is raging across the country, the plight of a woman in Chikkamagaluru who was attacked with acid in 2015 is proof of how the wait for justice can be an excruciating one. “He should have murdered me instead of pouring acid on my face. I would have been better off that way,” said Pushpa (name changed), 32, looking back on the pain she suffered every time she appeared in court or underwent surgery. So far, she has undergone 18 surgeries.The first hearing on the case was held on August 17, 2015, and the matter is still to be disposed of. The hearing has been completed and the Second Additional District and Sessions Court has posted the matter for January 10, 2020. “The case is in the final stage.
