Niantic Labs CEO John Hanke, the little known Silicon Valley genius behind Pokemon Go, was at Mobile World Congress this week touting the future of augmented reality (AR) mobile gaming. That future involves faster computer response times and networks that can handle many more users doing network intensive things (like playing Pokemon Go) while all being in the same geographical location. And it’s arriving just in time for the company’s Harry Potter mobile AR game due out later this year. Depending on who you ask at MWC, you’ll get a different response about whether 5G has been over hyped. Decoding the Winter Session: The Parliament’s 8 big legislations
The winter session of Parliament began on November 18 and will conclude on December 13. The nearly month-long sessions saw some key Bills being table and passed. A few Bills such as the Surrogacy (Regulation) Bill, 2019 that seeks to prohibit commercial surrogacy, but allows altruistic surrogacy has been sent to a Rajya Sabha select committee. Another controversial Bill, the Protection Data Protection Bill has been sent to a joint select committee. Here are a few Bills passed during the current session. 1. The Taxation Laws (Amendment) Bill, 2019The bill was passed in Rajya Sabha on December 2. The Bill provides domestic companies with an option to pay tax at the rate of 22%, provided they do not claim certain deductions under the Income Tax Act. The Bill also provides new domestic manufacturing companies with an option to pay income tax at the rate of 15%, provided they do not claim certain deductions. Kerala will produce 20,000 blockchain professionals in the next two years, in what could be a major revolution in this emerging technology in India, according to a top official.“The coming two years are crucial for us as we plan to produce 20,000 blockchain experts. The emphasis is on enhancing the quality of manpower steered by young startup companies,” State IT secretary M.
