By Sreeraman ThiagarajanWhat do you think of when you picture humans talking to their devices and using voice to command machines? If you are like most of us, you are probably imagining a futuristic Star Trek like scenario where man-machine interactions occur as if by magic. But the reality is quite different, because voice-enabled assistants are already a part of our everyday lives, and while there is a fair bit of technical wizardry needed, none of it involves undertaking voyages to distant planets. Back on earth, at my home, the voice-enabled Google Assistant has quickly become a familiar presence, and my dad, wife and son turn to it for help, multiple times a day. Appa, who can’t see too well without his reading glasses, calls out to the Google Assistant on his phone every time he needs to access some information without having to type. My son can’t seem to get over his curiosity and keeps asking the Assistant about astronomy and math, and I usually call out to ask for … [Read more...] about Indian consumers are using voice technology to get things done. However, people still go to banks because of the trust built over generations. For services like healthcare and finance, tech companies always have to partner with banks,” Mohan notes, adding that the strength of banks is not customer facing, but regulation and dealing with data privacy. “BigTechs don’t like being regulated, the reason why … [Read more...] about Future of Financial Institutions and Bigtechs

New Delhi: Delphi Technologies on Thursday announced that the company will introduce a new 500+ bar GDi system that can reduce particulate emissions and fuel consumption at the 2019 Vienna Motor Symposium. The company claims that the new system can cut down particulate emissions by up to 50 per cent as compared to state-of-the-art 350 bar system without expensive engine design modifications.Reducing the number of exhaust gas particulates, including those smaller than 23 nm, it will help manufacturers meet increasingly stringent future global emissions standards, Delphi Technologies said in a release. “The industry has long recognized that increasing injection pressure to 500+ bar could substantially cut engine-out particulates while improving CO2 emissions and fuel economy,” explains Walter Piock, chief engineer, Gasoline Systems, Delphi Technologies. With the new Delphi Technologies system, engine designers can benefit from 500+ bar injection pressures without having to … [Read more...] about Delphi Technologies to unveil a system to cut gasoline emission by upto 50%
