Video Player Close ANKARA, March 1 (Xinhua) -- Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Monday unveiled a new normalization plan to ease COVID-19 restrictions in Turkey through a province-based approach. "It is not possible to take normalization steps in an environment where the pandemic is spreading. As Turkey is a big country in terms of geographical area and population, we need to take gradual steps," Erdogan said at a press conference after a cabinet meeting. The 81 provinces in Turkey will be divided into four categories of low, medium, high and very high risk according to their COVID-19 situation based on infection rates and the vaccination process. The provinces will be evaluated every week and their normalization applications will be updated, according to Erdogan. Cafes and restaurants, which were allowed only for take-away and delivery, will now be able to host customers between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. with half capacity, yet excluding very high-risk provinces. Its battle is happening in the shadows away from the high profile fight for the retail consumer. Udaan is targetting a niche pie business to business e-commerce that promises to offer a bigger lucrative opportunity as the front-end retail. The opportunity India's e-commerce market, projected to reach $99 billion by 2024 by Goldman Sachs, is one of the fastest-growing in the world. By Avik Chattopadhyay The spark On February 1, 2021, after the budget presentation, on being asked by a television reporter why there was no mention of electric mobility , Nitin Gadkari, the Union Road Transport and Highways Minister, made an interesting remark. “The country needs to explore more self-sufficient and self-reliant methods of powering mobility to reduce our dependence on imports!” This was significant and one needs to read between the lines; especially if one couples the National Hydrogen Mission [NHM] that was announced by the Finance Minister. On February 8, the Ministry of New & Renewable Energy told the media that the draft of NHM will be ready in two months. Link this with the fact that Delhi inducted Hydrogen-CNG buses in its fleet in October 2020. This is evident from the rise in the number of new demat accounts that were opened -- a record 6.8 million between April and October 2020. Non-institutional participation in the cash segment of the market, which serves as a proxy for retail participation, also went up between March and November 2020, from an average of around Rs 22,500 crore (Rs 225 billion) to Rs 35,000 crore (Rs 350 billion). China faces mounting pension and retirement challenges, but it's not without silver linings. It's well known that China's huge and rapidly aging population will grapple with a shortage of pension coverage that looks set to worsen over the next few years. There is no quick fix for state pensions falling short of growing retirement needs, but policymakers see promoting private retirement saving schemes as a key means of filling the gap. Here, we see some encouraging signs, especially when it comes to a general awareness in China of the importance of saving, and of building up a nest egg for a rainy day. According to the results of a new survey from Fidelity International, China scores higher than most global peers when it comes to the overall financial wellness of its citizens, a foundation that will underpin the development of private, or third-pillar, pensions. In a financial wellness survey of 17,000 people across Canada, the Chinese mainland, Germany, Hong Kong, Japan and the ... » Learn More about Financial wellness can foster pension system in China
Even unique ‘islanding’ system, Rs 500-cr annual surcharge failed to protect city. What went wrong? A power grid comprises a network of transmission lines connecting a power plant to households through high-voltage lines. In between, the electricity is sent through a number of substations, where the high voltage aka transmission voltage is ‘stepped down’ to distribution voltage to allow it to be used in households without frying up appliances. In Mumbai, these substations are at Salsette, Kalwa, Borivali, Vikhroli, Kharghar and Versova. The city gets electricity from four distributors: the state-owned Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (MSEDCL), BEST Undertaking, and private players Tata Power and Adani Electricity . The blackout, although a surprise, wasn’t the result of an overnight, single failure. Problems began three days ago. ♦ October 10: One of the transmission grids—the 400 kV Talegaon-Kalwa line—was shut down to address a ‘technical ... » Learn More about Multiple power trips, grid separation failure to blame
