Smith was outspoken last weekend after Reed pleaded ignorance when given a two-shot penalty in the Bahamas for clearing sand behind his ball in a waste area. The Queensland said Reed’s justification for the action was “bulls**t” and accused him of “cheating the rules”. Smith, who was left out of day one action at Royal Melbourne by International captain Ernie Els, said he was “sure” Reed didn’t like his criticism. Graeme Smith appointed CSA’s interim director of cricket
Johannesburg: Former South African captain Graeme Smith has been appointed Cricket South Africa's director of cricket on an interim basis. CSA acting CEO Jacques Faul said on Wednesday that Smith will remain in the role till the Indian Premier League (IPL) next year. "I've publicly stated a number of times that I would love to assist CSA in this difficult time, particularly in developing this new role of Director of Cricket. I'm still as passionate about South African cricket as I ever was and I'm looking forward to getting stuck into the role," Smith is quoted as saying by the CSA. Smith has been on the CSA radar for some time now with the 38-year-old last month stating that he had withdrawn his interest for the role. Graeme Smith appointed CSA interim director of cricket
Former captain Graeme Smith was on Wednesday appointed as Cricket South Africa’s (CSA) interim director of cricket. CSA’s acting CEO Jacques Faul said that Smith will remain on the post until the Indian Premier League (IPL) next year. “I am delighted that Graeme has agreed to assist Cricket South Africa up until the IPL next year,” Faul said in a statement.
