WASHINGTON (NYTIMES) - In a ballroom across from the Capitol, an unlikely group of military hawks, populist crusaders, Chinese Muslim freedom fighters and followers of the Falun Gong has been meeting to warn anyone who will listen that China poses an existential threat to the United States that will not end until the Communist Party is overthrown. If the warnings sound straight out of the Cold War, they are. The Committee on the Present Danger, a long-defunct group that campaigned against the dangers of the Soviet Union in the 1970s and 1980s, has recently been revived with the help of Mr Stephen Bannon, the president's former chief strategist, to warn against the dangers of China. Once dismissed as xenophobes and fringe elements, the group's members are finding their views increasingly embraced in President Donald Trump's Washington, where scepticism and mistrust of China have taken hold. Fear of China has spread across the government, from the White House to Congress to federal … [Read more...] about Red scare grows in Washington, now with China as focus
Hair loss grow
Invest in your hair. It is the crown you never take off.” I saw this sign in a Beauty Salon window. To this day, I have not forgotten those words. I always make an effort to take care of my hair by using healthy hair products and having hair treatments. When friends tell me I have a nice haircut, I feel like I can rule the world. I have been going to Regine’s Beauty Salon at the Link Building for many years. A month ago, I went for a blow dry and the lady who washes my hair all the time warned me that I had falling hair. My hairstylist for years also commented that the front part of my hair was getting thin. I went into panic mode as I have always taken pride in my thick hair. I didn’t take notice that age, chemicals, constant blow dry, putting highlights, lowlights and all kinds of haircolor are disastrous to hair health and factored in my hair loss. I did some research on how to restore hair growth without having … [Read more...] about Rx for thinning hair
Lymphoma is a type of a blood cancer where the lymphocytic white blood cells, which function to protect the body from infections, grow out of control.“There are over 60 sub-types of lymphoma and there is no one-size-fits-all treatment” says Dr Lee Yuh Shan, a senior consultant at Parkway Cancer Centre who specialises in malignant hematology such as lymphoma. The lymph nodes around the neck, groin and armpit areas are often the first to signal that the cells have multiplied out of control, and in some cases, transformed into cancerous lymphoma cells. Seek expert advice when there’s painless swelling in these areas and other general symptoms such as fevers, night sweats, loss of weight and lethargy. “The first steps towards good treatment is getting the correct diagnosis and the Lymphoma sub-type. Knowing the specific Lymphoma sub-type and the genetic profile, helps us to personalise the treatment strategy” says Dr Lee.Advanced Treatments to Fight … [Read more...] about Chemotherapy-free Lymphoma Treatments
The cellphones known as 5G, or fifth generation, represent the vanguard of a wireless era rich in interconnected cars, factories and cities. Whichever nation dominates the new technology will gain a competitive edge for much of this century, according to many analysts. But a television network a few blocks from the White House has been stirring concerns about a hidden flaw. “Just a small one,” a TV reporter told her viewers recently. “It might kill you.” The Russian network RT America aired the segment, titled “A Dangerous ‘Experiment on Humanity,’” in covering what its guest experts call 5G’s dire health threats. US intelligence agencies identified the network as a principal meddler in the 2016 presidential election. Now, it is linking 5G signals to brain cancer, infertility, autism, heart tumors and Alzheimer’s disease — claims that lack scientific support. Yet even as RT America, the cat’s-paw of Russia’s … [Read more...] about News Russian network links 5G to health risks
By Kathryn Hudson The Kit Mon., April 29, 2019 I never know how often to wash my hair. I’ve read that it’s good to skip as many washes as possible, but my hair has a tendency to get quite limp after a day or two, maximum. I often resort to wearing it up or using dry shampoo to try to prolong my style, but I’m wondering if I should just wash it every day to freshen it up. Will that actually damage my hair? — Shelley, Oakville There is a good chance this question is also scrawled on the wall of a cave somewhere — painted in symbols by primitive man — because it seems like one of the most fundamental queries asked over and over again by humankind. (Perhaps that’s a slight exaggeration, but the topic does garner over 122 million hits when Googled online, so it seems clear we’re searching for an answer.) I, myself, engage in variations of this conversation several times a day. I have to carefully schedule when I … [Read more...] about Ask The Kit: Do I really need to wash my hair every day?
