Kochi: GoAir, has started new flight between Kannur and Dammam in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA). The inaugural flight will take-off from Kannur on December 19, 2019 and land in Dammam the same day. This will be GoAir's maiden flight to KSA, 5th destination in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries, 9th international and 34th sequential destination. GoAir will operate Kannur – Dammam – Kannur non-stop flights four days a week. Speaking at the occasion, Jeh Wadia, managing director, GoAir said: “With the new flight to KSA, GoAir further consolidates its international network - within a short span of 14 months we have added 9 destinations. Can’t confirm weapons used in Saudi attacks were Iranian: U.N. Secretary-General
U.N. Secretary-General Antonio Guterres says that the world body has not been able to independently corroborate that the cruise missiles and drones used in attacks this year on an airport and oil facilities in Saudi Arabia “are of Iranian origin.” The United States has blamed Iran for the attacks. The Saudis said the missiles and drones were Iranian but stopped short of accusing Iran of firing them. The U.N. chief said in a report to the Security Council obtained Friday by that the U.N. examined debris from the weapon systems used in the attacks and is still collecting and analysing additional information, and trying to establish the supply chain. Malaysia has right not to extradite Zakir Naik to India: PM Mahathir Mohamad
KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysian Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamad on Monday said that his country has the right not to extradite controversial Islamic preacher Zakir Naik to India, since the fugitive evangelist claims he will not get a fair trial back home, according to a media report. Naik, a 53-year-old radical television preacher, reportedly left India in 2016 and subsequently moved to largely Muslim Malaysia, where he was granted permanent residency. "Zakir in general feels that he is not going to get a fair trial (in India)," Mahathir was quoted as saying by The Star newspaper. He compared the situation to Australia refusing to extradite former police commando Sirul Azhar Umar, who was sentenced to death in Malaysia in 2015 for killing a Mongolian model. "We requested Australia to extradite Sirul and they are afraid we are going to send him to the gallows," the prime minister said. More than half of 27,000 fans interviewed by British anti-discrimination body Kick It Out and Swedish-based Forza Football across 38 countries said they had heard racist abuse being hurled at matches. Fewer than a third knew who to go to to report it.Kick It Out and Forza Football said the results strengthened the case for points deductions in incidents of racism from a team's supporters. Sixty percent of the supporters interviewed backed the idea of teams losing points in the event of racist behaviour by fans, according to the survey.
