Actor Kangana Ranaut has announced her second film as director - an epic action drama to be mounted on a large scale. The film will be based on a true story. Kangana made her debut as director with the period epic Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi, which touched the coveted Rs 100 crore mark at the domestic box office.She said in a statement, “I’m on the verge of announcing my next directorial venture. It’s an action film — an epic drama. It has taken a lot of my time. Currently, we are putting everything in order, but we have locked the script. Donald Trump to attend Davos World Economic Forum
WASHINGTON: US President Donald Trump would attend the annual World Economic Forum meeting in Davos in January, the White House has said. For the second consecutive year, Trump would attend the global meet. "As you know, the World Economic Forum will take place in Davos, Switzerland from January 22 through 25. The President will attend, as he did last year," White House Press Secretary Sarah Sanders said. Notably, Trump had declined India's invitation to attend the annual Republic Day Parade in New Delhi on January 26. The White House had cited scheduling conflicts as one of the reasons. Sanders said Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin will lead the delegation, and that will also include Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, Secretary of Commerce Wilbur Ross, and Secretary of Labour Alex Acosta. Australia launches review of foreign aid priorities

Foreign Minister Marise Payne and Alex Hawke, the Minister for International Development and the Pacific, announced that Dennis Richardson, former head of the Australian Security Intelligence Organization (ASIO), will lead a review of international development policy priorities. They said the new policy would "guide our support for a secure, stable, prosperous and resilient Indo-Pacific." Australia's aid budget has been cut by 27 percent to four billion Australian dollars (2.73 billion U.S. dollars) since the Coalition was elected to govern in 2013. "The new policy will reflect Australian values, including our commitment to human dignity, gender equality and inclusive development, and our commitment to poverty reduction and helping those impacted by natural and man-made disasters," Payne said. New York: Members of the Indian-American community say they feel betrayed, cheated and saddened by Indian-American Democratic Congresswoman Pramila Jayapal, who has introduced a Congressional resolution on Kashmir, saying that the lawmaker is "pandering for political advantage through it. Jayapal on Friday introduced a Congressional resolution urging India to end the restrictions on communications in Jammu and Kashmir as swiftly as possible and preserve religious freedom for all residents. The Indian-American community, which has strongly supported the Democrats in the US over the decades, is voicing anger and hurt over Jayapal moving ahead with introducing the legislation even though Indian-Americans had urged her against it.
