The Karnataka State Pollution Control Board (KSPCB) told the High Court that it will conduct one more round of public hearing in physical form on the draft Environment Impact Assessment/Environment Management Plan for the eight-lane Peripheral Ring Road (PRR) project. A submission in this regard has been made before a division bench comprising Chief Justice Abhay Shreeniwas Oka and Justice Sachin Shankar Magadum during the hearing of a PIL petition. KSPCB advocate Gururaj Joshi told the bench that the board is ready to conduct one more session of public hearing in physical form by following the COVID-19 guidelines after issuing a public notice notifying the date for hearing. Irdai forms panel to review security guidelines to deal with cyber-attacks
Insurance sector regulator Irdai on Wednesday said it has formed a committee to review its information and security guidelines due to exponential increase in cyber-attacks across the globe in the wake of COVID-19. The economic situation owing to the pandemic has seen an exponential increase in cyber-attacks across the globe and in particular, the financial sector. This situation has necessitated regulators to re-look into their Cyber Security Guidelines applicable to all regulated entities in an effort to protect the financial systems, Irdai said in an order. The Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority of India (Irdai) had issued guidelines on cyber security in April 2017 as a part of its governance mechanism. An Information Security Commission (ISC), board-approved information and cyber security policy, appointment of chief information security officer and cyber crisis management plan are part of its mandate. Video Player Close GENEVA, Feb. 24 (Xinhua) -- The number of confirmed COVID-19 cases worldwide has been decreasing for the sixth week in a row, but the more contagious variants of the virus are spreading fast, the World Health Organization (WHO) said in its weekly pandemic report published on Wednesday. The number of new coronavirus cases has dropped by 11 percent since last week, and North America, South America, Europe, Africa and the Western Pacific region all reported decreases. The Americas have seen the largest weekly decline with 19 percent, while the U.S. still has the highest number of weekly cases at 480,467. The number of deaths is also trending downward, the WHO said, dropping by 20 percent worldwide since last week.
