Interest in application creation and development on top of the network is starting to become a more important thing based on my conversation with carriers in the last couple of years. Jio, for example, has certainly taken the lead in terms of creating services and becoming more of a full-fledged end-to-end provider. It is more focused on the consumer and in effectively owning a lot of their mobile lives.I am increasingly seeing an appetite for becoming a provider of applications and services on top of the network and not just becoming a network provider only. It will become a very big part of the strategy for carriers as they go forward even as they still think about monetisation, go to market and their partners.
