Do you love shopping in Japan but don’t have the funds to go there on the reg, like I do? Fret no more. A sugoi place that gathers many of Japan’s most kawaii, trendy and reasonably priced brands under one roof has just opened: @Tokyo, a homegrown concept created by the Lucerne Group. “We started with Owndays and then Anello, and because we were looking to expand very quickly, word spread around communities of small Japanese manufacturers that, ‘Let’s partner with the Lucerne Group because they do a good job,’” says Emerson Yao, managing director of @Tokyo. “So they all started flooding in: ‘We want to work with you, we want to work with you!’ ‘Okay, let’s do a collection of stores together.’” In various malls like The Podium, @Tokyo is laid out like a shopping street you would find in Japan’s great capital city, with a row of stores featuring nine brands: newly introduced labels like Karuizawa … [Read more...] about Where To Shop For Trendy Japanese Items Right Here In Manila

It has a hotshot new designer known for dressing Beyonce and is experimenting with monthly product launches on social media. Now Burberry is moving past its famed camel check prints with new logo-style branding meant to give its handbags and other wares the kind of covetable cachet top luxury rivals like LVMH's Louis Vuitton have long enjoyed. It's a gamble as fans of the British label digest the unfamiliar monogram - a motif of interlocking "Ts" and "Bs" in a nod to founder Thomas Burberry - splashed onto everything from hoodies to high heels. Burberry's revamped image is set to get its first real test on Tuesday, with first quarter sales that should reflect the higher proportion of designs … [Read more...] about In makeover mode, Burberry bets on new branding to boost sales

With so many photographers looking to capture the fashion action, it is no surprise that fashion week photography has become a ruthlessly competitive arena. The Post spoke to … [Read more...] about Inside the ruthless world of fashion-week photography

If you don’t believe me, take a look at Bernier’s Twitter page, home to various screeds about a recent federal government proposal to make menstrual products free and accessible in federally regulated Canadian workplaces. The reason for this proposal is simple. There still exists around the world and, yes, even in Canada, stigma around menstruation, not to mention a disturbing lack of access to the typically expensive products women use when they are on their periods. Article Continued Below “Period Poverty” is a real problem in this country. A study published last year by Plan International Canada, determined that one third … [Read more...] about Why is Maxime Bernier so obsessed with tampons?
