The ED had earlier claimed that Karti has been "blatantly misusing" the liberty granted by the court in allowing him to travel abroad and has been using the same to protract the investigation in the case. Sheena Bora murder trialDr Sudhir Gupta drafted the final report on Sheena’s death in 2015; he hadn’t maintained any records The defence in the Sheena Bora murder trial on Monday questioned the credentials of Dr Sudhir Gupta, the expert witness from the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS). Dr Gupta was accused of plagiarism, improper recording of findings and suppressing evidence from his medical examination. He, however, denied the allegations made by Peter Mukerjea’s lawyer Shrikant Shivade. Mukerjea and his former wife Indrani are both in prison for the alleged murder of Sheena Bora in 2012. In November 2015, on the CBI’s request, Dr Gupta had constituted a board of five doctors at AIIMS to reexamine the bones – suspected to be Sheena’s – exhumed in 2015 and re-assess the post-mortem analysis of the unidentified charred remains discovered in 2012 from Raigad.
