WASHINGTON - Last month after Donald Trump watched Fox News lob what he called "softball questions" at a Democratic lawmaker, the US president delivered a crisp smackdown of his favorite network: "Fox sure ain't what it used to be." The small upstart broadcaster was launched only recently, in 2013, by technology millionaire Robert Herring, who sought a more conservative alternative to mainstream media behemoths like CNN. Today it seeks to outfox Fox by drawing extra attention from Trump, who has been voicing his displeasure with the ratings leader over everything from presidential polling to its hosting of Democratic candidate town halls. Last week in a tweet to his 63 million followers, the president managed to disparage Fox and his … [Read more...] about Is Trump’s love affair with Fox News fading?

FOCUS ON ENTRY PRICE, NOT FUTURE SELLING PRICE Daniel Wong, associate group director at Propnex Realty, strongly advocates the position that property investment should not be a gamble. "Many think that how much you make from a property investment is at the point of sale, but what many are not aware of is that it is already determined at your point of purchase. It is important to know the value of the house you are buying into." He explains that one should get a house at the current value or below value, not higher; you should not buy a property hoping that future transactions will support it. For example, if a project's transactions are at an average of $1,000 per square foot (psf), anything lower, like $900psf, is a good buy. You should never buy it at $1,100psf and hope that it will hit $1,200psf in the future. To help you decide on your buying price, David Ng, senior associate marketing director of Propnex Realty, recommends checking the historical psf price trend to see if it's … [Read more...] about Property in Singapore: How do you spot a good buy

China is at the center of all major geopolitical events that are currently happening in the Asia-Pacific region. Here are three events that have not been adequately covered. China vs. Vietnam Energy exploration in the South China Sea has been a major source of conflict between China and several countries bordering the South China Sea (SCS). In spite of the Hague ruling that negates China’s territorial claim, Beijing has aggressively worked to limit or block other nations from pursuing drilling and exploration projects. While the Philippines has chosen to work with Beijing, other countries, … [Read more...] about Potential trouble spots in Asia
