Multi-billionaire Elon Musk's real net worth, like his personality, is volatile and mercurial.Probably the best known billionaire in the world (and undoubtedly the most covered by the news and social media), Musk and his exact wealth are a matter of speculation because he lives such an un-billionaire type existence. For one, Musk has no guaranteed multimillion dollar annual salary plus stock options and perks from Tesla Inc. Musk has a $56,000 monthly salary from Tesla but hasn't drawn this salary even once. Seems Musk relies on his salaries and perks from his other businesses such as SpaceX, The Boring Company, OpenAI and Neuralink to get by.But here's what we know about Musk's wealth. Forbes estimates his "real time net worth" as of May 15 at $19.5 billion. That's good for Number 40 on Forbes' billionaires list. CNBC places Musk's net worth at about $23.6 billion (no mention of a time frame). And here's why it's tough placing an exact number on Musk's wealth. In January, Tesla announced … [Read more...] about Elon Musk net worth: How much is Tesla, SpaceX CEO worth?

How Montessori education developed business executives Wall Street Journal featured in April 2011, an article on how several computer and IT pioneers attribute their creativity to their Montessori preschooling. It was written by Peter Sims, author of “Little Bets – How Breakthrough Ideas Emerge from Small Discoveries.” Among them were Google founders Larry Page and Sergey Brin. Interviewed in 2004 by Barbara Walters, she asked the inventors if having parents who were college professors was a major factor behind their success. Instead, they credited their Montessori education. Larry Page said that he and Sergey Brin went to Montessori schools and it was part of that training of “being self motivated, questioning what’s going on in the world, doing things a little bit differently,” that was a major factor behind their success. Will Wright, inventor of the best selling THE SIMS videogame series lauded the method, … [Read more...] about How Montessori education developed business executives
Jeff Bezos, the richest man in the world and head of space company Blue Origin, announced Thursday his intent to participate in the new race to the Moon with a high-tech lander to carry vehicles and equipment. "This is Blue Moon," the 55-year-old said at a carefully choreographed presentation in Washington, as curtains lifted to show a model of a huge vessel. It will weigh more than three metric tons empty, 15 fully fueled, and be capable of carrying 3.6 tons to the lunar surface -- or 6.5 in a variant model. It is supported by four legs, with an upper deck where equipment can be fixed. A large tank of liquefied nitrogen fuel occupies its center. "It's an incredible vehicle, and it will go to the Moon," the Amazon founder declared. Bezos didn't announce a specific date for the project's first launch, but Blue Origin later said it was capable of meeting President Donald Trump's announced goal of returning people to the Moon by 2024. "We can help meet that timeline, but only because we … [Read more...] about Amazon’s Bezos unveils lunar lander project ‘Blue Moon’
Anxiety has set in across the space industry ever since the world's richest man, Jeff Bezos, revealed Project Kuiper: a plan to put 3,236 satellites in orbit to provide high-speed internet across the globe. Offering broadband internet coverage to digital deserts is also the goal of the company OneWeb, which is set to start building two satellites a day this summer in Florida, for a constellation of over 600 expected to be operational by 2021 Billionaire Elon Musk's SpaceX is equally active: it's just received a clearance to put 12,000 satellites in orbit at various altitudes in the Starlink constellation. Not to mention other projects in the pipeline that have less funding or are not yet as defined. Is there even enough space for three, four, five or more space-based internet providers? At the Satellite 2019 international conference in Washington this week, professionals from the sector said they feared an expensive bloodbath -- especially if Bezos, the founder of Amazon, decides … [Read more...] about New space race to bring satellite internet to the world
