The domestic car market is accelerating its recovery, with vehicle inventory falling nearly 30 percent last month, National Business Daily reported. According to the China Automobile Dealers Association, the auto dealer vehicle inventory alert index stood at 52.2 percent in February, down 29 percent year-on-year and 7.9 percent from the previous month. The index reflects inventory pressure for automobile dealers. It typically is lower than 50 percent when the market is healthy. It is composed of inventory, market demand, dealership finances and surveys of dealers' purchases, sales and stocks. The association's latest winter survey also showed the overall profit ratio of domestic dealers reached 62.7 percent, up 31.7 percentage points from the summer survey. The ratio of luxury car dealer shops registering a profit surpassed 70 percent, becoming a driver for industrial recovery. Car and motorcycle companies are now making electric bikes
industry has seen the future, and the future is 1895. That was the year Ogden Bolton Jr. of Canton, Ohio, was awarded U.S. Patent 552,271 for an “electrical bicycle.” A century and change later, electric bikes have gained new currency as car and motorcycle companies like Ducati, Harley-Davidson , Jeep, Mercedes-Benz , Porsche and Yamaha have horned into the market with their own designs. While the pandemic has accelerated bike sales, the overriding attraction is that cities worldwide are beginning to restrict motor traffic. These companies are betting that e-bikes are the urban vehicles of tomorrow — or at least vehicles for good publicity today. “In the past 12 to 18 months, you have seen a lot of new brands come into the market,” said Andrew Engelmann, an e-bike sales and marketing manager at Yamaha, which has been in the electric bike business since 1993 and claims sales of 2 million worldwide. “We in the U.S. have not seen this new energy toward cycling since ... » Learn More about Car and motorcycle companies are now making electric bikes
The Altroz iTurbo is a combination of power and performance
The Altroz is a striking looking hatchback with ample space offering an excellent ride and handling balance; a fly in the ointment was the sole petrol engine on offer. Now however, there is a new turbo-petrol which promises improved performance. So what is it like? On paper it certainly delivers. Power is bumped up to 110hp while torque has risen from 113Nm to 140Nm. Coming to its performance, there is good news and bad. The good bit is that the extra power is certainly apparent — the car no longer feels underpowered. Demand more, however, and it will leave you wanting. The trouble is that, while performance is an improvement over the naturally aspirated unit, it is still not as strong as some other small displacement turbo-petrols. Also, the Altroz uses indirect or port injection, which is not as sophisticated as the direct-injection turbo-petrols of its rivals. Riding the torque wave Look at the Altroz Turbo as a more powerful version of the regular Altroz and it starts ... » Learn More about The Altroz iTurbo is a combination of power and performance
