Company executives moved some marketing staff from other projects to work on bolstering sales of the latest handsets in October, about a month after the iPhone XS went on sale and in the days around the launch of the iPhone XR, according to a person familiar with the situation. This person described it as a “fire drill,” and a possible admission that the devices may have been selling below some expectations. MANILA -- China's OnePlus on Monday unveiled an upgraded version of its 2018 flagship with improved low light cameras and an in-display fingerprint sensor, adding to the barrage of consumer tech releases this month. Compared to the OnePlus 6, the OnePlus 6T has a bigger battery at 3,700 mAh and a 6.4-inch screen with a smaller cutout for the front camera. It runs on Android 9 Pie, a Snapdragon 845 chip with up to 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB of internal storage. Since the OnePlus 3 in 2016, the Shenzhen-based company has released an updated T version later in the year with mostly upgraded internals. Xiaomi Corp. unveiled its latest top-tier smartphone to bring the fight to Apple and Samsung, as the Chinese startup readies a highly anticipated initial public offering. Samsung on Tuesday launched the much-awaited Galaxy S9 and S9+ smartphones in India for Rs 57,900 and Rs 64,900 respectively for their 64GB variants and the 256GB variants are priced at Rs 65,900 for S9 and Rs 72,900 for S9+. "Wirh Galaxy S9 and S9+, we have reimagined the smartphone for today's and tomorrow's India which is one of the biggest 4G data markets and one of the fastest growing cashless economies in the world," HC Hong, President and CEO of Samsung Southwest Asia, told reporters here.
