Young Designer Realizes Passion for Shoes

· November 21, 2012 ·

November 21, 2012 08:29 To Kim Mi-sun shoes are everything. She was once a clothes designer with a fashion company but was dissatisfied in her job, quit, and after a period of aimless wandering found happiness designing shoes instead. To learn shoes design, Kim frequented the handmade shoe shops in Dongdaemun Market for several months and finally got the address of a shoe factory. She wandered in and virtually lived in the factory to learn the art of shoemaking. Her passion won the people there over, and they started passing on useful tips to her. Kim launched shoe brand SYNN and an online shop to sell her shoes in 2005. "I had no experience in business, let alone designing shoes commercially, but I wasn't too worried about the prospect because I started with conviction that money doesn't matter as long as I sell them to people who love my shoes. As the business expanded, many people asked me if they could see the shoes in person, so I ended up opening a shop in … [Read more...] about Young Designer Realizes Passion for Shoes

SCORECARD IMAGE: Rohit Sharma celebrates after getting to 150 on Saturday, Day 1 of the second Test against England, at the M A Chidambaram stadium, in Chennai. Photograph: BCCI Rohit Sharma's seventh Test century rallied India after a top-order collapse and helped them finish Day 1 in the second Test against England on 300 for 6, at the M A Chidambaram stadium, in Chennai, on Saturday. At 86-3 in the morning session, India looked to have thrown away any chance of batting themselves into a strong position on a pitch where runs are going to be harder to come by as the match progresses, before Rohit dragged thems back into the contest by smashing 161 and forging a vital partnership with Ajinkya Rahane (67). At close of play on Day 1, Rishabh Pant was unbeaten on 33 in the company of debutant Axar Patel (5). ‘England should be ashamed for sidelining Bairstow’

· February 12, 2021 ·

Boycott spells out his disappointment with England selectors for not replacing Buttler with Bairstow for 2nd Test vs India. IMAGE: 'Jonny Bairstow scored runs in Sri Lanka, he is used to India after two years in the IPL and he has a proven track record.' Photograph: Andrew Boyers Livepic/Action Images via Reuters Former England captain Geoffrey Boycott feels that the current team management should be "ashamed" of how it has handled the Test career of Jonny Bairstow, who has been rested for the first two games in India. Bairstow, who is a wicketkeeper-batsman, played the two Tests in Sri Lanka as a specialist batsman before being sent back home as part of England's workload management for its players. Bairstow will be available for the final two Tests in India but Boycott feels he should have replaced Jos Buttler as the wicket-keeper batman for the second Test. Buttler has been rested after featuring in the first Test in Chennai and he will return to India … [Read more...] about ‘England should be ashamed for sidelining Bairstow’

The Uttarakhand government has issued a notification authorising 136 people still missing after the flash flood in Chamoli district over two weeks ago to be declared "presumed dead". IMAGE: Rescue and restoration work continues at damaged Tapovan barrage, weeks after the glacier burst at Joshimath which triggered a massive flash flood on Feb. 7, in Chamoli district of Uttarakhand. Fifth among seven siblings, the carpenter's son from Sovima village near Dimapur, Kense says he became a cricketer all by himself and honed his skills by watching Warne on TV. He has a base price of Rs 20 lakh and the buzz is that both the Mumbai Indians and the Rajasthan Royals are eyeing the youngest player in an auction pool of 292. He turns 17 on March 6. "I was initially bowling off-spin. But my fingers started paining. Then I tried leg-spin. I didn't have anyone to coach me.
